Space invaders are smoking grass. Well, at least according to dutch producer I-F, and judging from the above artwork chances are good he’s right. This was released during the electro wave in the late 90’s, which included a lot of European acts like the ones on Aphex Twins’ Rephlex label. But also Detroit ghetto bass producers like DJ Godfather and DJ Assault. I guess this is what later became the more commercial electroclash a few years later.
This track was probably a big hit at the time. I remember it being hard to find the 12″ in Sweden but I caught it on the CD compilation “Interdimensional Transmissions From Beyond” on a trip to Amsterdam in ‘98. I got reminded by it as I saw it just got re-released and I think I’m going to play it at tonight’s party to see how it goes down on the floor in 2008. Here’s this week’s Friday Fun for ya!
